Introduction to Theatre (Free Youth Workshop - Ages 7 to 18)

11 - 15 years old: 1pm-3pm
16 - 18 years old: 4pm-6pm

This summer, we are welcoming young people (ages 7 - 18) who are living in Lambeth to a free Introduction to Theatre workshop.
Facilitated by Streatham-based artist Lara Grace Ilori, dive into the exciting world of theatre and performance in sessions tailored to different age groups, through engaging acting games and exercises.
Acting helps young people express themselves and build self-confidence in a supportive environment. With this in mind, our activities are designed to spark creativity and imagination. The ‘Introduction to Theatre’ workshops are curated for children and young people to build confidence, enhance creativity, make new friends and learn new skills. Workshops will be led by an acting and anthropology trained facilitator.

About Your Facilitator
Lara Grace Ilori is an actor and writer born and raised in Streatham, South London. As a 2020 graduate, she trained in BA Acting at RADA and holds a Masters in Social and Cultural Anthropology from UCL (2023).
Her theatre journey began at The BRIT School, where she now teaches on their Saturday school, BRIT Kids, as a theatre teacher. Lara is deeply involved in performing arts facilitation, also working as a Lead Acting Workshop Facilitator for the charity Underexposed Arts.
Having benefitted from various youth performance programmes herself, she is dedicated to offering no-barrier opportunities to young people in her community to be introduced to theatre and performance.
Lara also co-produces events at Streatham Space Project under co-founded creative laboratory ILXIAH - a space to share and engage in performances and forums, and meet practicing creatives.
